Get Qualified - Commando Box Instructors Course

Course equivalent to NVQ Level 3 Accreditation through NCFE

The Commando Box course learning hours 200

As the course is only looking for applicants that have what it takes to become a Commando Box Instructor, each applicant will be interviewed before the enrol.

Course fees will be discussed with each applicant.

The start fee will be £800, don’t worry if you cannot afford this amount in one payment, easy payments can be  discussed.

What you will be able to do after you qualify as a Commando Box Instructor; under licence.

  • Set up your own gymnasium
  • Run your own classes in your current gymnasium
  • Run Commando Box personal training sessions
  • Run a F.I.T Club Commando Box Gymnasium

The Commando Box course will be structured so no applicant will be tied to set hours, but will be asked to make themselves available for the structured sessions set out by the assessors.

COURSE CONTENT

Theoretical content of the programme …


Anatomy and physiology

  • Physiological principles of exercise and training.
  • Effects of exercise on the body.
  • Dangers associated with exercise.

Assessment of fitness

  • Methods of testing aerobic capacity and measurement of other components
  • body types.
  • Questionnaires
  • Problems associated with testing.

Principles of Commando Box

  • Boxing training – moves and punches
  • Commando training concepts
  • Basic, intermediate and advanced levels of fitness.

Coaching methods and techniques

  • Coaching styles
  • Principles of training
  • Learning phases
  • Types of practices (variable, fixed, masses, distributed)
  • Lesson planning

Communication Strategies

  • Verbal and non-verbal messages
  • Communication blocks
  • Elements of effective communication

Motivational Factors

  • Self-efficacy, perceived competence, achievement goals, self determination and perception of control.

Health and Safety


Note:
Accreditation of prior learning will be awarded when documentary evidence is supplied.

Practical Component of the Course

As part of the course you will be expected to participate in, observe and conduct a commando box session

Underpinning principles

  • You will be expected to design, conduct and evaluate a group and individual training session.
  • Relate basic anatomy and physiology to the session
  • Utilise equipment appropriately with emphasis on the health and safety aspects
  • Underpin each session with sound theoretical knowledge

Training Session

  • Prepare individual and group lesson plans
  • Structure a group and individual commando box session
  • Observe and coach effectively
  • Evaluate your own performance

Assessment

  • You are expected to collect evidence to demonstrate that you have achieved the competencies associated with the programme of study. 
  • You must demonstrate through the collection of evidence that you have achieved all of the competencies.
  • Competencies are associated with both practical skills and the underpinning knowledge that is associated with these skills.
  • Assessment is continuous throughout the programme.  The assessor will judge that you have achieved the required standard or more evidence is required.
